1. The Nightmare Before Christmas

While this classic stop-motion animated film has some darker themes, it undoubtedly celebrates Christmas in a unique and memorable way. Centered on Jack Skellington of Halloween Town, the film charts his adventures learning about the winter holiday and his ultimate obsession with it.

2. Scrooged

A modern adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, this '80s classic stars Bill Murray as a TV executive who goes on a journey similar to that of Ebenezer Scrooge. The film follows Murray's character as he produces a live broadcast of the classic tale and finds his own life following the same plot.

3. White Christmas

Netflix users hoping for a more traditional Christmas movie can check out 1954's White Christmas. The film follows two war buddies who entertain the troops. The classic movie turned the song of the same name into a hit still heard today.

4. Bad Santa

Already fed up with the holidays? Bad Santa is a great film for the cynic, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Tony Cox as professional thieves, with the former playing a mall Santa. Definitely not something to watch with kids around.

5. Love Actually

If British romantic comedies are more your style, it's hard to go wrong with Love Actually. The 2003 film interweaves 10 different love stories in London heading up to Christmas Eve, with an all star cast that includes Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson and Emma Thompson.
