The second half of the current tenth season of Fox's Bones will feature one of the show's main characters facing some trouble from his past.

Booth (David Boreanaz) will be confronting some demons in the new year, according to Bones showrunner Stephen Nathan.

"Booth is going to confront a couple demons from his past," Nathan said in a new interview with TVGuide.com. "He's in Gambler's Anonymous and we've had hints of that. But that's going to come back in a more powerful way than we've seen in the past."

'Bones' Star Emily Deschanel Talks Whether Or Not She's 'Up' For Returning For Further Seasons

Booth and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) have already gone through a lot this season with him getting out of jail only to find that one of their closest friends Sweets (John Francis Daley) was dead. He has also had to deal with Aubrey (John Boyd) back at the FBI, which hasn't been very fun for him.

In the mean time, though, there is still a fun episode up ahead. The upcoming midseason finale is the 200th episode of Bones and they are celebrating in style.

"Bones pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock in an episode that reimagines the Jeffersonian and FBI teams in 1950s Hollywood," the synopsis for the new episode reads. "Brennan plays an LAPD detective who's battling sexism on the force, and Booth is a notorious jewel thief who is far more than he seems to be. When Booth is framed for the murder of a rich socialite, he and Brennan team up to clear his name and find the true identity of the murderer."

This episode is set to air Thursday, Dec. 11 on Fox.

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
