'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 2 Spoilers: EPs Tease Inhumans Ahead of Midseason Finale, PHOTO For 'What They Become' [VIDEO]
Agents of SHIELD seems to be moving ever closer to the introduction of Inhumans.
Raina (Ruth Negga) recently informed Skye (Chloe Bennet) that she is not alien, but she is not quite human either. As the midseason finale approaches, executive producers Jed Whedon and Jeff Bell have weighed in on the ever-growing fan speculation.
While neither could confirm if Inhumans will actually appear, Bell said that the series is laying enough breadcrumbs that some fans should have a general idea where the story is heading.
"You try to lay breadcrumbs that a third of the people go, "Oh my god, it's that!" and a third of the people go, "I can't believe it was that!" and the other third go, "I'm sorry, what was the conversation?'" Bell explained to Newsarama. "You try to present it that way. So that doesn't mean we're always literally going where we're laying breadcrumbs, but wherever we're going, we trust that we've set it up properly, so when it happens, the right people will go, 'That was cool" or "that make sense" or "I didn't think that was coming," but it's all earned."
Meanwhile, Whedon also sidestepped Entertainment Weekly's inquiry if the alien city is in fact named Attilan.
"We will know what our characters know," Whedon teased. "If they get more on this, then yes. Right now, it's still a big mystery."
Next week's "What They Become" should deliver at least a few answers, especially after Skye and her father are reunited, and fans can see a preview for the winter finale below.
