'Dancing With the Stars' 2014 Cast: Karina Smirnoff Reveals Who Also Deserved To Win Mirrorball Trophy [VIDEO]
Dancing With the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff recently admitted that the best dancer truly won this season, though she also gave a special shoutout to another contestant who deserved the Mirrorball Trophy as well.

Smirnoff was eliminated near the start of the season with celebrity partner Randy Couture, but she admitted that Alfonso Ribeiro was the best dancer of the season.
"Alfonso was one of the best dancers from the get-go, from the very beginning, which is quite unique because, normally, the best dancer doesn't win. And this time it's different, I think the best dancer did win," she told ABC7 recently.

Smirnoff's words do have some level of truth to them; the best dancer often doesn't win. Back in season 17, she and actor Corbin Bleu were perhaps the best dancers, technically, but they came in second place to Amber Riley and Derek Hough.
However, Smirnoff also singled out one celebrity who also made the finals.
"I take my hat off to Sadie [Robertson]," she said. "She did a superb job. And for someone who has never danced, never performed on any stage before, she did a fantastic job. I think she deserve a Mirror Ball trophy as well. We should split it!"
Robertson came in second place while actress Janel Parrish, who was also one of the best dancers in the competition, came in third.
Dancing With the Stars returns for season 20 on ABC in March, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
