Anderson Cooper Boyfriend: Photographers Catch Long-Time Boyfriend Kissing Another Man
Say it ain't so!
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper's partner of three years, Ben Maisani, 39, was photographed kissing an unidentified male in New York's Central Park.
Last month, Cooper, 45, publicly announced his sexual orientation: "The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be more happy." And soon after, many sources said the live-in couple would be wed as soon as Labor Day.
But now, according to the Huffington Post, the relationship might not be able to withstand such a public betrayal.
"They both have very busy lives and have enormous trust in each other," a friend of Anderson's told the Huffington Post. "But at the end of the day, they come from very different worlds."
The same source points out that Maisani is an owner of an East Village gay bar while Cooper socializes with A-listers. Just last night, Cooper watched Beyonce perform at the UN headquarters for World Humanitarian Day.
According to the Daily Mail, the couple has nearly called it quits before, but Cooper's mom, designer Gloria Vanderbilt, helped salvage the relationship by suggesting they alter their work schedules. Cooper took less trips abroad and Maisaini worked less night shifts. Vanderbilt is said to have encouraged them to marry as well as adopt a child.
As recently as Saturday afternoon, the pair was spotted lifting weights at a gym in Chelsea, reported the Huffington Post.
It is unknown when the photos were taken, but neither Cooper nor Maisaini have made a public statement regarding the incriminating photos.
"It is just so sad that weeks after finally admitting he was gay and happy, this has happened," a friend of Anderson told the Huffington Post. "He never wanted to be the poster boy of the gay movement but he has become that. This is all very sad."
