A new report suggests that the artwork for the poster of Terminator: Genisys is very much inspired by that of Transformers 4: Age of Extinction.

Slash Film unveiled a mashup of the two posters to demonstrate its point, observing that the way Mark Wahlberg's portrait is set against a sunny maze field, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor is also postured in a similar setting, her hand clinging onto the skull of a T-800.

The posters for Genisys and its comparison with Age of Extinction posters can be seen on the film website.

Meanwhile, the pre-production for Transformers 5 is in a state of flux, but the rumor mills have been working overtime speculating about the plot and star cast for the sequel to Age of Extinction.

The latest reports suggest that the possibility of a G.I. Joe crossover with the series is a strong possibility, and will star Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis.

The Inquisitor came out with the report revealing that the Willis and Johnson would most likely helm the project, if it were to take place. The sequel to Age of Extinction will be crossed over with G.I. Joe.

Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
