In a recent interview, a consulting scientist to the Jurassic Park series, spoke about the Jurassic World and its recently released trailer.
Jurassic World Storyline To Be Very Different From Previous Movies In Franchise
Paleontologist Jack Horner spoke to the Smithsonian about the movie. Horner also collaborated with Michael Crichton on the book series and has worked on the film series from the first in 1994. Speaking about the new hyrbid dinosaur that has been set to play the main villain and prime destroyer in Jurassic World, Horner stated that "the made-up dinosaur is going to be very scary."
In the recently released trailer, what seemed to be an aquatic dinosaur is fed a white shark, as the park visitors look on in delight. The beast is mammothian and Horner weighed in on the realism of it.

"It's technically not a dinosaur. It's a marine reptile. It's called a mosasaurus and the size of this one is a little out of proportion, but we don't know the ultimate size of any extinct animal."
The Jurassic Park films are based on Michael Crichton's series of novels about pre-historic beasts being revived by revolutionary gene technology. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are co-producing the film alongside Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two installments in the franchise. Irrfan Khan and Ty Simpkins also star in the movie.
The film will hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
