Could Spider-Man Work As A Netflix Series?
Spearheaded by Melissa Rosenberg, the 13-episode drama - the second in a four-series Netflix-Marvel deal - centers on Jessica Jones, a superhero suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes.
While Marvel is doing their own thing in the movie world, these new Netflix series are expected to be solo before coming together for a team-up series called The Defenders. There are no plans yet for the characters to show up in any movies with their universe taking place on Netflix only.
Ritter has been a name on a lot of television show lists with her most prominent roles coming as the lead on the ABC cult comedy Don't Trust The B- in Apt. 23 and a short stint on AMC's Breaking Bad. Her next role will be in Tim Burton's Big Eyes with Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz.
