Doctor Who is heading to the North Pole, and we've got the pictures form the Time Lord's latest adventure.

'Doctor Who' Santa & Twelve Have A 'History', 'A Beef' To Settle In Christmas Special

Twelve and Clara will spend their Christmas caught up with Sleepers and Dream Crabs, two reality-warping monsters who will probably play a hand in bringing Santa Claus into "The Last Christmas" (photos from the Far Far Away Site).

It looks like the Doctor will have to rescue wayward scientists once more. It appears a North Pole-based research team will have a run in with the new creatures, and their bodies will soon start to transform into hosts for the baddies.

'Doctor Who' Clara To Stay For Season 9? New Rumors Surface As Christmas Special Draws Near

Meanwhile, it looks like Clara will be yanked from her Christmas Eve slumber. If visions of sugarplums were dancing in her head, they will soon be substituted for the visions of terror.

"[It's] actually a scary, tense and claustrophobic adventure," said showrunner Steven Moffat, according to Radio Times (via Doctor Who TV). "The very people who think they might hate this, won't hate it at all. Of all the Christmas specials I've done, it's the one most like the paradigm Doctor Who episode."
