'Jackass' Star Bam Margera Handcuffed in Airport
On Sunday Aug. 12, "Jackass" stuntman Bam Margera was arrested in North Carolina's Charlotte Douglas International Airport after airline employees did not allow him on his flight, stating that Margera smelled of alcohol, used vulgar language and was extremely argumentative, according to the incident report.
Bam told TMZ he admits to being abrasive, but claims he was not drunk at the time of the incident. The smell of booze was "left over" from the previous night's festivities, he said.
After several hours in a holding cell, the airline reportedly booked him for a later flight without any problems.
This isn't Margera's first altercation with law enforcement. During a Feb. 20 Mardi Gras party, Margera was obtained by three cops in the French Quarter of New Orleans and was then taken to a police station, TMZ reported. Mangera said he was handcuffed for "swimming in a pool with his clothes on."
In September of 2011, Margera was detained by police for punching a New York taxi driver and kicking the cab's door in. According to TMZ, an observer said Bam and his friend attacked the driver through a car window.
But Margera, instead, told TMZ, that the driver called one of his female friends a "slut." So, he said, she spat at the driver and in return, the driver pulled her hair. Margera claimed that he came to his friend's rescue by diving into the car through the window and punching the taxi driver.
He was never charged for the incident.
