'James Bond 24' Movie News: Stephen Hawking As Bond Villain? Physicist Wants The Chance, Calls It His 'Ideal Role' [VIDEO]
As the praise comes in for Oscar hopeful The Theory of Everything the man behind the film's topic is turning his head to a film franchise that he feels would be perfect for him: James Bond.
Christoph Waltz Says That James Bond Is Crucial To Western Society & Talks Role In 'Spectre'
In an interview with The Telegraph last week, renowned physicist Stephen Hawking said that if he could pick his ideal film role, it would have to be playing the villain in a James Bond movie. Hawking said that his wheelchair and voice would make him the perfect match for 007.
"My ideal role would be a baddie in a James Bond film," he said. "I think the wheelchair and the computer voice would fit the part."

This wouldn't be the first time Bond faced a man in a wheelchair as John Hollis played an unnamed wheelchair-bound villian in 1981's For Your Eyes Only. As of now, Hawking says he doesn't plan on taking any film roles though.
The one thing that could be holding Hawking back for the Bond role though is his voice. At 21, Hawking was diagnosed with motor neuron disease, which eventually caused him to lose his voice. Now, he uses a speech synthesizer that gives him a robotic voice with an American accent (even though Hawking is English). In the same interview, he said that "I have kept that voice, because it's now my trademark."
While they await this physicist taking on the role of villain, the current James Bond movie works with Christoph Waltz as the proposed bad guy with some rumors linking Andrew Scott to the role.
Spectre is out on Nov. 6, 2015.
