It's no secret that the world's favorite band One Direction is one of the most beloved musical sensations to ever grace the stage.

Screaming fans around the world can't wait to get a glimpse of their beloved boys and it looks like their fan base may be growing.

According to Billboard, the 1D group has taken home the award for Billboard's top Artist Of The Year and it's due to the vocal group's successful Midnight Memories album.

New 'One Direction' DVD Is Available

The last time this coveted award was given to a group was back in 2001 when Destiny's Child ruled the stage.

One Direction is the 9th group to snag this award since Billboard started the year-end 'Artist Of The Year' category back in 1981.

The group, comprising of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, has recently been in the headlines after Malik failed to make an appearance back in November.

Rumors of Malik's substance have taken over the internet, and time and time again, Malik and the other group members have assured the world that the rumors are 100% false.

Despite all of the negativity, the boys certainly have a lot to be thankful for this year.

Aside from being no. 1 on the charts, the heartthrobs just released their new album Four and they also recently announced that they will be embarking on a new tour in 2015.

'The One Direction On The Road Again Tour 15' is scheduled to kick off in June of next year back home in the UK. They will also be visiting Ireland.

Tickets for the anticipated tour are currently on sale and can here purchased here.
