The latest rumor indicates that Avengers 2 writer/director Joss Whedon is reconvening part of the cast in order to include a scene with Marvel's newly cast Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), according to Cinema Blend.
While it would be interesting to see a post credit scene with Cumberbatch's character, Marvel tends to only look two movies ahead while filming their notorious teasers. Doctor Strange is set for release in November 2016, and Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War are both in the pipeline before Strange.
Whedon's call for two weeks of reshoots with Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man/Tony Stark), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk/Bruce Banner), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye/Clint Barton), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) doesn't necessarily mean he is planning on adding extra scenes to the summer release. Considering the short timeline, Whedon is most likely looking to rework material that didn't pan out the way he had hoped.
Viewers will have to wait until May 1 to find out more, but Doctor Strange fans shouldn't get their hopes up quite yet.
