'Longmire' Season 4 News 2014: A. Martinez 'Amazed' At Popularity Of Crime Drama, Reveals How New Life On Netflix Will Make Episodes 'Grittier' & 'Closer To The Bone' [VIDEO]
Longmire found a new home on Netflix last month for season four, but actor A. Martinez (Jacob) is still "amazed" at the opportunity to have been a part during this incredible journey.

"It is almost like a dream," Martinez said of the Netflix pickup in an interview with Indian Country on Wednesday.
"I have been doing this acting thing for a long long time," noted Martinez, who's credits include L.A. Law and an Emmy-winning performance on Santa Barbara. "The way people feel about this show [Longmire] is so different than the norm. I'm sure there are some people that will look at this and shrug, but the percentage of people who look at the show wand decide to buy in his huge."

"This is so special at this point in time to have stories told from a viewpoint that is not cynical," continued the actor. "We are actually allowing these people to be fully rounded human beings. Every person and every character had their demons to wrestle with. It helps to recognize them as people."
Longmire was A&E's highest-rated scripted series and second-highest rated series behind the reality show Duck Dynasty for all three seasons before the network decided to give the show the axe. Now that the program has a new life on Netflix, fans can except a little to change. According to Martinez, it will likely be for the better and fans will be pleased with it.
"One other nice thing is we can perhaps be a little grittier in our storytelling, which is closer to what the books are like," he noted. "We can afford to get just that much closer to the bone."
Production for the new episodes will begin in March.
Longmire will likely return for a fourth season n Netflix during the second half of 2015.
