Jennifer Aniston's hand is a lot heavier now that she's rocking an eight-carat emerald-cut diamond engagement ring from new fiancé Justin Theroux.

The actress kept the rock hidden the first time she was spotted since the engagement, but new reports have all the details on the ring and how her actor/writer boyfriend popped the question.

Insiders were stunned by the ring, which is "a rectangle with tapered diamond baguettes on the sides."

It all went down at Blue Hill, a restaurant in New York's Greenwich Village. The couple was out to dinner to celebrate Theroux's 41st birthday on Aug. 10.

Aniston began celebration as soon as she said accepted the proposal, a source told Life & Style.

"Just after Jen got engaged, she called all her friends and told them about it," the friend revealed. "She was so happy and said she loves the ring. I think she was overwhelmed and overjoyed by the size and beauty of it!"

An official confirmation of the engagement came Sunday from a represenative for Theroux.

"Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage," the statement said.

A representative from the Blue Hill restaurant kept mum about the exciting event but did tell the New York Post that the eatery offers Jennifer and Justin well wishes: "We are thrilled about the news of their engagement, but we cannot comment on any guests."

The first post-proposal Aniston spotting came on Monday on the North Carolina set of her new film, "We're The Millers." Aniston teased photographers by keeping her hand hidden beneath a white towel, obscuring the view of her ring.
