Penny Dreadful returns on Showtime for its second season next year, and fans of the Victorian supernatural drama can expect Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) to be that same "man of action" he was during season 1.

Showtime Might Regret Cutting This 'Penny Dreadful' Character

While the season 1 finale revealed that Ethan is in fact a werewolf, nothing about the character has changed as a result. Fans had, after all, predicted his werewolf origins weeks before the big reveal and if anything the news will only lend to the speculation as to why he left America in the first place.

On Saturday producer Christopher King shared a photo of Hartnett on set, dressed in his standard coat and hat as they filmed a scene out on the street.

'Penny Dreadful' Shut Out For Golden Globe Nominations

The fact that the characters are still pretty bundled up halfway through the season suggests that most of the new episodes will take place in the winter. This means that the whole of the season will be covering a pretty short amount of time. King also shared two less telling photos over the weekend, including one of a prop he teased as being "Sir Malcolm's new pet" and one of himself attending the Penny Dreadful Christmas party on their Dublin set, which was designed to look like an old London street.

Penny Dreadful returns on Showtime for its second season in 2015.
