American Country Countdown Awards 2014 Live Stream VIDEO: Watch Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line & More Perform
The inaugural American Country Countdown Awards are taking place on Monday night and the genre’s biggest stars are expected to be there.
Carrie Underwood, who is pregnant with her first child, will open the show a decade after she was crowned the winner of American Idol in 2005.
“She's got a Greatest Hits album that just came out that she really wanted to celebrate with us, and she's kicking off the show with a really spectacular performance,” executive producer Mark Bracco told Billboard. “It's going to be something that celebrates her 10 years and is very amazing.”
Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Kelly Clarkson, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, and Hank Williams, Jr. are also set to hit the stage.
The awards will be handed out strictly based on “album sales, radio airplay, touring data.” Only one award, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, is fan-voted.
"We view the show as country music's Christmas office party," Bracco said. "It's the end of the year, and it's been an amazing one in the format. Everyone is coming together in Nashville and will celebrate what a great year it has been, give each other a high-five, thank the fans and have some great performances. It's going to be an end-of-the-year party for country music."
The award show airs on Monday night at 8 p.m. EST on Fox with Florida Georgia Line as the host. Here's a link to live stream it here.
