Vikings will hit the seas once more on Feb. 19.

'Vikings' Season 3 CGI For Massive Paris Battle, What Is Ragnar's Plan?

Returning for a third season, the History Channel series will pick up in the wake of King Horik's (Donal Logue) brutal death. Now that Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) is suddenly the King of Denmark, the settlers of Kattegat can start to venture farther afield.

So what is Ragnar's main ambition? Well, the bold warrior is known for his desire to explore, and this season he will sail to Paris. Some say Paris is impossible to capture, but Ragnar will utilize his growing force in attempt to take the city on the Seine.

Over the course of the season, Vikings will throw several new characters into the fray. Kalf (Ben Robson) will be Lagertha's (Katheryn Winnick) second in command, a man trusted (perhaps unwisely) to mind her affairs while she is away; Harbard (Kevin Durand) will be a wanderer who appears in Kattegat following several premonitions by the settlement's more prominent women; and Emperor Charles of France (Lothaire Bluteau) and Princess Gisla (Morgane Polanski), who will enter the storyline while the battle rages around Paris.
