Agents of SHIELD will add another jaded lover to the mix as season 2 continues.

Blair Underwood will join the ABC series as Dr. Andrew Garner, Agent Melinda May's (Ming-Na Wen) ex-husband. It looks like Lance Hunter and Bobbie Morse won't be the only members of SHIELD's failed marriage club.

The actor jumped on Facebook on Tuesday to show off his new look (see photo above).

"Yo, had to go clean-shaven this time to play the good doctor on Marvel's: Agents of Shield," Underwood said. "Just finished work. On set with Ming-Na Wen, who's handlin' her business on the show!"

Garner has a past as neurologist and forensic psychologist, according to Science Fiction, but it is unknown if he will be working for or against Coulson's organization.

Underwood's character will have to go up against May's strong personality, and executive producer Jeph Loeb believes the actor is more than ready for the task.

"With Blair, we knew we'd found someone to perfectly complement May's stoic personality," Loeb said, according to Science Fiction. "Fans have wondered about her ex-husband since she first referenced him, and Blair has the presence and charm to stand up to our Agent Melinda May."
