'Avengers 2' Hawkeye: Joss Whedon Teases Clint Barton Plot, 'Something's Up With That Boy' [VIDEO]
Something's brewing for Hawkeye in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Fans of Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) were not overly pleased with the archer's lack of screen time in 2012's The Avengers, but it looks like writer/director Joss Whedon will provide plenty of plot points for Renner the second time around.
Since the former circus performer has yet to receive a stand-alone film, viewers will be especially delighted to hear exactly what Barton spent Phase 2 doing.
"We are [going to explore that]," Whedon informed IGN. "'Cause something's up with that boy. That's all I'm gonna say."
Needless to say, Hawkeye will break his seemingly monosyllabic streak in Age of Ultron.
"[It] was important in the characters you haven't seen [since the first Avengers movie] -- Hulk being one of them and Hawkeye being one of them -- [that] Ultron will make up for it," explained Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' president of production, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "They have very big parts in Age of Ultron."
