Details about the upcoming season are scarce. The Internet is rife with speculation regarding Clara's (Jenna Coleman) possible departure, and it remains to be seen if the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) will receive a new companion in 2015. References to death in a recent "Last Christmas" trailer do not bode well for Clara Oswald (see video below).
When questioned about the upcoming season, showrunner Steven Moffat explained that the Twelfth Doctor will continue to evolve as the series continues.
""I'm just finding out who this character is and also there are more mysteries about him, so it's good to hint at those," Moffat teased, according to Doctor Who TV. There are other things in my Doctor that we're still to display."
