‘Looking’ Season 2 Spoilers: Richie Exploring ‘New Territory’ As Show Prepares To Get ‘More Racy’ With New Episodes? [VIDEO]
Season 2 of the acclaimed dramedy series Looking is just around the corner, and star Raul Castillo has dropped quite a few hints about what fans can expect from Richie and Patrick (Jonathon Groff) this time around.
Patrick Learns He's Kevin's 'Dirty Little Secret?'
"We're exploring new territories with him this season, and I think we're establishing where he and Patrick...how they relate after this kind of fallout at the end of the first season," he told Access Hollywood. "We see their relationship develop slowly throughout the season and then they start to find new boundaries with each other, figure out how they're going to be friends or not friends...it's slow but I think it's a beautiful burn throughout the season."
Fans of the series remember how the two characters' budding relationship hit a major rough spot after the first season ended, when Patrick's boss, Kevin (Russell Tovey) came between them. However, fans hoping for a Richie and Patrick reunion may not need to feel discouraged, as the chance that the two could reconnect is something Castillo says is always a possibility.
Season 2 of "Looking' To Have More 'Heart' & 'Fireworks'
"That's always in the air, whether Patrick and Richie will wind up together," he said. "I think that they toy with that a lot this season in a really fantastic way."
"...I think there's a special bond between Patrick and Richie," he later added.
And though the show may still take a bit of a tender and slow approach to the love stories that it shows this season, Castillo did hint that those who crave some hotter material and better sex scenes should be prepared because the show isn't going to be entirely as timid as it may have seemed in season 1.
"If they don't think it's racy enough, then they should get ready for this season," he laughed. "I think there's some interesting stuff coming this way."
Looking season 2 premieres Sunday, Jan. 11 at 10 p.m. on HBO.
