While Christmas is a time for fun and laughter, Shelagh and Timothy are about to come across a frightening moment in the Call the Midwife Christmas special.

Is The 'Call The Midwife' Christmas Special Going To End With Something 'Quite Shocking?'

In a sneak peek that was released on Friday, the two are looking for trees with the baby when Timothy points out that Colin and his family have a fancy tree. Shelagh doesn't have such a modern taste because she likes to be more traditional.

Timothy tries to see the glass half full by getting a modern tree since they would save money and use the same one every year. Plus, the little baby would be able to see that tree every year and say that this was the first tree that arrived since she was born.

Shelagh does not care about this and makes it clear that they're going to do this her way. As she continues to speak to Timothy, a man suddenly collapses as hot coals burn his leg.

Shelagh starts to flip out as she runs over to this poor man who looks like he's choking. Since she's a trained nurse, she can help him out where someone else gives her a hand. They need to get him on his side when they realize that he has a burning seam on his leg. When Shelagh exclaims that they need an ambulance, the clip comes to an end.

The Call the Midwife holiday special airs on Christmas night at 8 p.m. ET on PBS.
