'Constantine' NBC: Angelica Celaya On Cancellation Rumors, What's Next For NBC Series

The DC series will jump from Fridays 10 p.m. ET to Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Instead of combating CBS's Blue Bloods and ABC's 20/20, the comic book adaptation will air against a slate of reality series and comedies, including ABC's last Man Standing and Cristela, CBS' Amazing Race, and Fox's Utopia.

'Constantine' NBC: Dr. Thirteen & Felix Faust to Join Cast? Producers Dish On New Characters

John Constantine (Matt Ryan, Zed (Angelica Celaya), Chas (Charles Halford), and Manny (Harold Perrineau) closed out the first half of the season on Dec. 12 with "The Saint of Last Resorts," and the Hellblazer team will return on Jan. 16 with "The Saint of Last Resorts Part 2." The series was originally slated for a Jan. 9 return.

As for the future of the series, the fate of season 2 has yet to be decided. NBC halted production after 13 episodes, but that does not mean all hope is lost.

"It's not dead, at all - it's solidly in contention for a second season of NBC, which is still supporting it," Goyer said, according to We Got This Covered. "Constantine got caught in the midst of a change that is happening at the networks. It gets big numbers on DVR and online views, but it is sort of a tweener that doesn't fit the traditional viewing box at the big networks. It's not State Of Affairs, it's just not that kind of show, but NBC likes it."
