Jennifer Aniston Engagement: Justin Theroux Got Blessing From BFF Courteney Cox Before Proposing
Just days before he popped the question to girlfriend Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux dined with Jen's BFF and former "Friends" costar Courteney Cox to get her blessing.
Aniston was on a movie set in North Carolina on July 30, totally unaware that her boyfriend was having a meal in New York with Cox and Laura Dern, another pal. It was a family affair - Cox's daughter and Aniston's goddaughter, Coco, 9, and Dern's two children, 10-year-old Ellery and 7-year-old Jay were also in attendance.
Witnesses said Coco sat on Theroux's lap during the meal, and the group had a blast.
"Everyone seemed to be having fun," a source told Us Weekly.
Just 11 days later, Aniston and Theroux were celebrating his 41st birthday at New York restaurant Blue Hill when Theroux proposed with an eight-carat emerald-cut diamond ring.
"Jen cried," a friend said to Us Weekly about Theroux's "simple" proposal.
Aniston played coy and kept the engagement ring hidden from sight when photographers caught her the next Monday on the set of "We're The Millers," but an insider gushed to Life & Style about the extravagant piece of jewelry, a "rectangle with tapered diamond baguettes on the sides."
No details on plans for the nuptials have yet been released. The marriage will be the first for Theroux and second for Aniston, whose relationship and divorce from Brad Pitt has become the stuff of tabloid legend.
