Diem Brown & Ryan Knight Star In Their Final Challenge, 'Battle Of The Exes II'

Following the tragic death of her ex-boyfriend, Ryan Knight, Carroll has announced the upcoming season of The Challenge will be her last.

"It’s only right that both of our times with MTV ends the same way it started, together,” Carroll wrote to fans, according to a report on Saturday by The Ashley's Reality Roundup. A short time later, she further confirmed her exit from the show, saying, "Yes. I won’t be back.”

'Real World' Creator Speaks Out On Diem Brown & Ryan Knight's Final 'Challenge'

Carroll and Knight began dating in 2010 while filming for MTV's The Real World: New Orleans. After the show, the pair had an on-again, off-again relationship that was off at the time of Knight's passing. However, throughout their ups and downs, Carroll and Knight remained friends, and just days before he died, the former couple had tweeted to one another.

Late last month, just weeks after the devastating loss of Diem Brown to cancer, TMZ reported Knight had died after a night out with friends. According to their sources, Knight had been out with several people on the night before Thanksgiving and ended up at a friends house, after taking "some pills." The following morning, friends found him deceased, and claimed he choked on his own vomit.

The Challenge: Battle Of The Exes II premieres on Jan. 6 at 11 p.m. on MTV. For a sneak peek, check out the clip below.
