The season 25 finale left fans shocked by Amy and Maya's unexpected win on but host Phil Keoghan is already preparing fans for season 26 and the plenty of surprises that are already in store for when it begins airing in February.

'Amazing Race' Ends With 'Most Surprising' Finale Ever

The new season-which has already wrapped filming, is set to be one that involved only dating couples-six of whom are already together and five of whom will be meeting for the first time at the starting line-in an attempt to see if these groups can really work together in some extreme situations.

"The pressure of racing together on a 35,000 miles race around the world will ultimately prove if they've found true love," Keoghan says in a preview clip for the episode.

A Breakdown On Season 25's Final Four Teams

Before that plan for the new season was revealed however, Keoghan did an interview with HitFix, where he discussed how teamwork often plays out on the show in the form of alliances-something that wound up missing during Season 25 as teams kept mainly to themselves-and something that could be a major source of drama in the upcoming season as well.

"...That's the thing about the Race is that it's unpredictable and you just don't know how teams are going to react with each other," he said. "...I think it doesn't give you a huge benefit to necessarily team up, certainly not for a season. I mean it can in a given Leg or whatever but I think that's sort of what makes the show interesting is that you don't know whether people are going to want to work together or whether they're going to want to just be by themselves."

And though the season is sure to be full of drama, Keoghan promises he will be in the middle of it again, and is bringing back the live updates he did during season 25 where he was at the same locations as teams and letting fans know exactly what was happening in a specific moment.

"We just finished shooting a new season and I did some more again and I've upped the style of that even more incorporating it," he said. "It's very, very difficult to do because I have to do all the explanations for all the challenges and I have to stay ahead of the teams."

Season 26 of The Amazing Race premieres Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 9:30 p.m. with a 90-minute episode, before moving to its 8 p.m. Friday timeslot on Feb. 27.
