Sonny (Maurice Bernard) has desperately been trying to hold on to his criminal organization and save the life of his half-brother from behind bars-but he may need to officially release control over everything on General Hospital.

Sonny Surprises Carly

After learning that Johnny (Brandon Barash) had kidnapped Ric (Rick Hearst) in an attempt to convince Sonny to let him have control over the Corinthos crime organization by combining it with the Jerome and Zaccara ones, Sonny tried playing Johnny to believe he was going to give in-while secretly dispatching Shawn (Sean Blakemore) to try and track Ric down before it was too late. Johnny was able to figure out Sonny's plan however after a warning from Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) and gave the kill order on Ric-causing Sonny to try and retaliate.

However, Sonny's control of the situation will be interrupted by his most recent enemy to also appear behind bars at Pentonville-Franco (Roger Howarth).

Sonny Faces An Old Enemy

"We really have to stop meeting like this," Franco says to him in a preview clip for the Tuesday, Dec. 23 episode.

If Franco winds up being conniving enough, he can potentially cause major problems for Sonny by siding with Johnny-and could potentially force Sonny to give up control of the only thing he still technically has left.

Meanwhile, Shawn and Jordan's (Vinessa Antoine) attempt to rescue Ric may not be going very well, as they are not being overly successful and getting Carlos to drop his gun and let his captive go.

"He gave the order, now I'm going to carry it out," Carlos says in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
