‘Amazing Race’ Season 25 Cast News: Adam & Bethany Say ‘Third Place Isn’t So Bad’ But They Regret Not ‘Strategizing’ Better [VIDEO]
Though they did make some mistakes that kept them from winning the $1 million prize on season 25 of Amazing Race, married surfers Adam and Bethany are still looking back on their third place finish with some pride.

"I think going into it, we were like, 'Let's not come in last,'" Bethany told TV Guide in a post-finale interview. "But we knew we had the ability to get to the finals and possibly win. You take it one leg at a time. I think not getting ahead of ourselves helped us. Overall, it was incredible. Third place isn't so bad."
The couple, one of the more famous teams who raced in the season, were one of the more surprising couples this season, not only because Bethany was able to prove the things she could accomplish with only one arm, but because they seemed to never let the pressure from the race get to them and affect their relationship.

"We really didn't fight at all. I think we knew it would be really stressful and there would be situations where they would make us want to fight. But we kept in mind that it's just a race," Bethany said. "We didn't want the race to come between us. It actually made us more lovey-dovey than we are."
But even though the couple is proud that they ran a clean and drama-free race, a part of them does think they could have strategized better during the finale leg and planned who would complete their roadblocks better.
"...I don't think we were really strategizing when we got to the first Roadblock," Bethany said. "It just kind of like, 'Final leg. You go for it.' It didn't even cross my mind that there might be another Roadblock and one of us might have to do the other one because you never know what twists they have."
And though she wasn't able to pull off a win while completing it, Adam says he's happy she was able to do it and never gave up.
"It was really hard, knowing what they had to do, running around and memorizing [the numbers] without notes," he said. "But I knew Bethany wouldn't give up and she got it done. Who knows if I would've done better."
