New Orleans Saints' Drew Brees Welcomes Bouncy Baby Boy Callen Christian
New Orleans Saints' Drew Brees and his wife Brittany announced the arrival of their third son, Callen Christina Brees, on Wednesday, Aug. 15 through Twitter.
"Brittany and I are proud to say that Callen Christian Brees was born yesterday evening in New Orleans," the 33-year-old quarterback tweeted. "Mama and baby boy are happy & healthy."
Callen has two older brothers: Bowen, 22 months and Baylen, 3 1/2, reported People magazine.
In January, Brees announced that he and Brittany, his college sweetheart and wife of nine years, were expecting. "Thanks for the well wishes for Brittany and Baby No. 3," 2010's Super Bowl MVP wrote via Twitter. "She is 2 1/2 months. Training camp baby."
His sons were excited about their soon-to-be sibling, but couldn't agree on one thing: the sex of the baby.
"Bowen wants a lil bro, Baylen a lil sis," Brees tweeted.
Brees led the New Orleans Saints to their first Super Bowl title in February 2010 and was named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year.
While he was nursing a wrecked shoulder, he came to New Orleans in 2006, a year after the Hurricane Katrina.
"I needed New Orleans so badly back in 2006, just somebody to believe in me, somebody to care about me," Brees said on a 2010 episode of NBC's "Today" show. "And that's why myself and my wife Brittany, we just tried to throw ourselves into the community, to do our part."
After Brees led the Saints to victory in Super Bowl XLIV, he carried his then one-year-old son, Baylen, onto the field. Brees has called that "one of the greatest moments of my life," according to People magazine.
