China's Yu Wenxia has won the 2012 Miss World title. Last year's Miss World, Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela, placed the crown on Wenxia's head. The 2012 Miss World winner responded to the judges that the winner of the title "should be a woman with kind heart and humility, who has simple values in complex world." She also said, "When I was young I felt very lucky because so many people helped me, and I hope in the future I can help more children to feel lucky."

The international beauty pageant was held at the Inner Mongolian city of Ordos. Miss Wales Sophie Elizabeth Moulds placed second, with Australia's Jessica Michelle Kahawaty coming in at third.

The top semi finalists included beauties from India, Mexico, Australia, Jamaica, China, Wales, South Sudan, England, Brazi,l Spain, Phillipines, United States, Netherlands, Indonesia and Kenya.

The event was hosted by UK's Myleene Klass and American actor Jason Cook. A total of 116 contestants took part in the pageant. They were introduced individually as they walked around the stage.

The Miss World is one of the oldest major international beauty pageants. Along with crowning the Miss World, the pageant also crowns Beach Fashion, Miss Talent, Miss Sports, Beauty With a Purpose, and Top Model.

This year's Miss World Talent went to China and Miss World Sports went to Sweden. Miss South Sudan won the Top Model round. Miss Beach Fashion went to Miss Wales.

The next Miss World pageant will be held in Bali, Indonesia.
