Doctor Who's 2014 Christmas Special is in the books, and it's time for fans to start looking forward to season 9.

Clara Staying Through Season 9? Jenna Coleman Opens Up About Companion's 'Doctor Who' Future

Twelve (Peter Capaldi) and Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) are back together following Danny's traumatic death, and it looks like the pair are ready to take on another year of battles. Showrunner Steven Moffat closed out "The Last Christmas" Doctor Who Extra with a little teaser for the TARDIS' next adventure.

"We've got three scripts in. Other scripts are being written right now," Moffat said in regards to season 9. "I know what the arc is, I know where we're going, I know what's going to happen in big terms - in broad terms - throughout the show. I'm feeling very excited."

The season 9 premiere will be titled "The Magician's Apprentice." It is currently unknown which writer is the mastermind behind episode 1, one of the upcoming installments will be penned by Torchwood's Catherine Tregenna.

Don't mark your calendar quite yet, however, as a premiere date has not yet been announced.
