'American Horror Story' Season 4 Cast: Could Jessica Lange Or Kathy Bates Win Golden Globes Despite 'Freak Show' Snub? [VIDEO]
FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show wasn't entirely shut out at the upcoming Golden Globes, but could Freak Show's two acting nominees win trophies even if the show itself isn't nominated?

American Horror Story: Freak Show was not nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Limited Series or Movie Made for Television, having been beaten out by FX's Fargo, Starz's The Missing, HBO's The Normal Heart, HBO's Olive Kitteridge and HBO's True Detective.
However, two of Freak Show's stars were nominated, Jessica Lange for portraying Elsa Mars in Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television and Kathy Bates as Ethel Darling for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Series, Limited Series or Movie Made for Television.
Is 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' The Worse Installment In Anthology Or One Of The Best?
American Horror Story was nominated for Best Drama Series for its first season and for Best Miniseries or Made for TV Movie for Coven last year. Like Freak Show, Asylum was snubbed of a nomination.
Even still, it's possible that Lange or Bates could walk away with a trophy by the end of the night. The Golden Globes love stars and Lange's biggest competition in her category is probably Frances McDormand in Olive Kitteridge. This race may be a nail-biter.
The Golden Globes also love rising stars which could put Uzo Aduba from Orange Is the New Black over the edge to win in Supporting Actress. However, Bates is a legendary actress and her part is certainly challenging as "the bearded lady," so she definitely has a shot at winning as well.
It remains to be seen how American Horror Story: Freak Show will do at the Emmys but the show has been showered with 17 nominations in each of its first three seasons, so as long as voters aren't fatigued of the show, it should do well.
Some fans were shocked that Sarah Paulson was not nominated for a Golden Globe for her role as conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler, but she will probably get an Emmy nomination for it considering they've nominated her two years in a row for the show.
American Horror Story: Freak Show returns on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
