Nicki Minaj Cancels UK Festival for Vocal Cord Damage, Curses Critics Via Twitter
Nicki Minaj might not be able to speak, but boy, can she tweet!
The Harajuku Barbie had to cancel her Saturday and Sunday performances at England's V Festival due to strained vocal cords.
Minaj's rep told The Hollywood Reporter: "Despite doctor's orders, she performed on a bruised vocal chord in (New York City) on August 14. As a result, the chord has gotten worse."
After the rapper/pop star took an X-Ray, a doctor advised her to rest her voice for several days.
Known for her foul language, Minaj berated her critics in a series of tweets Monday morning.
She began her rant with: "I am so thankful to my true fans who understand WHY I couldn't play #VFestival & WHY I can't play Dublin. Absolutely gutted."
The vulgarity started in her following tweet: "However, if u have anything negative to say to me, please #EatSh**AndDie - I am human."
Minaj continued the attack by writing, "I was in jeopardy of losing my voice entirely and needing surgery on my vocal chord. If u can't understand that, your mother's a WHORE!!!!"
She alluded to her Aug. 14 performance and tweeted, "I will NOT let you people make me feel horrible for a f***ing HEALTH issue! That's what got me in this mess! I shldve listened 2 the doctor!"
The singer went after the media and wrote: "Like people are hitting me telling me I shldve mimed. No! Then you woulda made a fucking STORY out of that too! #killyaf***ingself.
Turning her attention to her adoring fans, she tweeted, "My beloved United Kingdom, u know how much I f***ing love u! Ireland, I truly appreciate you. Barbz, thnku for the well wishes."
Minaj went straight back to lashing out at her critics. "All you do is rip people apart and when they're dead & gone u won't lose a wink of sleep. #goF***Yourselves"
She concluded her rant by apologizing to her fans. "Barbz, u know how much I hate disappointing u guys."
This morning, a blog post headlined, "Nicki Minaj Berates, Curses Fans After U.K. Concerts Cancellation" appeared on Hollywood Reporter's website.
But now her fans are the ones doing the attacking. Her "Barbz" have been tweeting @THR (The Hollywood Reporter) for their choice of words and Minaj has been retweeting them. One of her devotees responded to The Hollywood Reporter's accusations with: "She's not cursing us. She's cursing @ U a**hole!"
