'Arrow' Season 3 Spoiler: What We Know So Far About The Mid-Season Premiere [VIDEO]
After the shocking mid-season finale of Arrow, and fans eagerly await the return of the rest of the chapter, Enstars rounds up all that is known so far about the premiere in January.
Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) death at the hands of Ra's Al Ghul (Matt Nable) will lie at the heart of the episode. There have been rumors of possible twists and if Oliver is actually dead. As has been suggested by a Screen Rant report, the character could very well be resuscitated, noting it is a normal occurence in comic books. The piece goes on to specifics which could bring Oliver back to life like the immortalising Lazarus Pit, we were made aware of in the previous episode. The pit is also known to heal deadly wounds, perhaps even bring people back from the dead.
In the promo for the upcoming episode, somebody is heard saying Oliver is dead, as the camera pans atop the mountain top, where the duel between Ghul and Oliver took place, showing Oliver's limp body on a rock. That's about all the preview gives away about what fans can expect from the next episode, titled Left Behind, which is to air on January 21.
Slade To Return In Upcoming Episode Of Arrow
In an interview, Guggenheim spoke about what fans can expect from the show now onward, and suggested that Roy will be stepping it up after Oliver's loss, in the upcoming episodes.
"One of the things I was very straight with Colton about is I don't think we serviced his character quite as much as we would have liked in the firt half of seaosn 3," he said. "I'll say the stuff that he's got in episodes 10, 11, and 12, it's pretty dang gangbusters. There's one scene in episode 11 between him and John Barrowman that I think is some of his finest work on the show."
Following the death of Oliver, Amell took to Facebook to allay fans' concerns about the future of the show and what they can expect from the rest of season 3.
His post was reassuring for fans who seemed to be very dismayed by Oliver's sudden death, and Amell also promised them that the series would only impress them.
Here's his post:
"Facebook. Thank you so much for the enthusiasm spilling out of tonight's fall finale. I've never had anywhere near this amount of feedback.
"Despite the title, our show is bigger than any one character. We're going to prove that to you. Sit tight... January will be here in no time."
TVLine reports, as predicted, the upcoming episode will be very emotional and will take its toll on Felicity. It will be especially dramatic as Oliver confessed his love for her while dying, and this season began with hope for the coupe in general.
Speaking about episode 10 to the publication Rickards had previously revealed that she just wrapped filming "a sad moment" which was draining for her. Guggenheim also spoke about David Ramsey's character breaking down in the episode, and how that would be exceptionally heart rending for many fans. Guggeneheim said that the scene Ramsey "shot what I would describe as his most emotional scene.... David breaks your heart with his performance."
It has also been revealed that Count Vertigo (Peter Stormare) will be returning in Left Behind.
