Critics Say 'The Originals' Deserves A Golden Globe Nod

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Michael Narducci admitted that there will be "a tiny little time jump" between the show's midseason finale and its January return.

On Dec. 17, TVLine confirmed that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) daughter, Hope, will be sticking around New Orleans for the second half of the season, allowing fans the opportunity to see first-hand what sets her apart from other children.

Merry Christmas From The Cast Of 'The Originals'

"You'll begin to see certain signs," Narducci told the site. "Subtle at first, then maybe not-so-subtle in terms of how this baby is something completely unique."

The time jump with certainly allow showrunners to expedite the development of these "signs" though it is uncertain what they are exactly.

Having a baby stay on set will be no problem for Morgan, who has enjoyed the addition so far. "You're trying to create these magic moments that are spontaneous…" he told Access Hollywood earlier this month. "So yeah, it's nice."

The Originals returns on The CW for the remainder of its second season Monday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
