Rihanna, Chris Brown, Drake To Be Reunited on MTV After Bar Brawl
Rihanna, Chris Brown and Drake are set to be in the same place for the first time since the rappers violently fought in a New York City bar and the Barbados-born singer tearfully admitted she still loves Brown to Oprah Winfrey.
MTV executives are anxious to get the three musicians in the same building for the network's Video Music Awards on Sept. 6, Us Weekly reports.
"They are hoping a fight breaks out," the source said. "Ratings galore!"
Rihanna was the catalyst for the first brawl between Brown and Drake when the rappers and their respective entourages had a violent blowout at New York City bar W.I.P. Reports said Brown sent a bottle of liquor to Drake's table, prompting the Canadian rapper to approach Brown and argue about Rihanna, who has been romantically linked with both men.
The argument turned physical, with punches and glass bottles being thrown across the bar, prompting New York police to respond after they were called between 4 and 5 a.m.
The fight has resulted in a number of lawsuits. The W.I.P. bar is seeking $16 million from the pair in a suit that calls their behavior "beyond the boundaries of reason," and NBA star Tony Parker, a bystander at the club, is suing W.I.P. for the injuries he sustained during the fuss.
Rihanna, the woman who allegedly sparked the argument, made big news herself last weekend during an appearance on "Oprah's Next Chapter." The singer fought back tears as she told the talk show queen that she still loves Brown even after his 2009 arrest for physically assaulting her.
"We love each other and we probably always will, and that's not anything that we're going to try to change," Rihanna told Oprah.
Fans interested in the dynamic between the three feisty superstars can tune into the VMAs on Sunday, Sept. 6 on MTV.
