R&B singer Mariah Carey has returned to her singing roots. The 42-year-old released the music video for new album's first single.

The song, titled "Triumphant (Get 'Em)," features rappers Rick Ross and Meek Mill, and is one of many from the singer's as-yet-untitled fourteenth album.

The video, directed by her husband Nick Cannon, stars Mill playing the role of a boxer who fights in the ring. Carey and Ross are a part of Mill's entourage and they encourage the fighter while ringside. Ross sports a chinchilla fur coat, while Carey, 42, flaunts her newly svelte body in several different gold-toned skintight dresses and mini-skirts. The singer's recent weight loss is evident when she bares her well-toned midriff in a cut-off top.

Carey announced last month that she will be the new judge on the next season of "American Idol." The award-winning singer replaced Jennifer Lopez, who judged the previous two seasons. Carey is reportedly taking home a whopping $18 million for one season of "Idol."

"I am so excited to be joining 'Idol'," she told reporters. "I can't wait to get started in a couple of months! I will see you in January!"

Carey married Nick Cannon in 2008 after six weeks of dating, and the couple has renewed their vows every year since. Cannon hosts "America's Got Talent" and is an executive for Teen Nick. The "We Belong Together" singer gave birth to ytwins in 2011.

On Tuesday, Aug. 21, TMZ reported that rapper Nicki Minaj is being considered to join Carey at the judges table on "AI." Reportedly, Carey became so enraged about the news that she hung up the phone when told the "Starships" rapper would likely be joining her on the singing competition. FOX is also searching for a male judge. People reported that Enrique Iglesias and Nick Jonas are negotiating with the show's producers.

Carey has had more No. 1 hits on the Billboard charts than any other recording artist in history - a total of 18. She was credited for writing 17 of those hits and she has also won five Grammys and sold more than 200 million records worldwide.

The "Vision Of Love" singer is currently filming scenes for her appearance in the upcoming film "The Butler." The film also stars Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Minka Kelly, John Cusack and Jane Fonda.

Season 12 of "Al" will premiere in January 2013. Carey's as-yet-titled album is slated for release in March 2013.
