Dancing With the Stars pro Emma Slater is not ready to see head judge Len Goodman leave the show after this spring, but she recently revealed what must be done in order to replace him.

Slater recently spoke with Glamour about Dancing With the Stars and how important Goodman is to the show's legacy. With the judge set to leave after season 20, the pro said that they will have to find someone similar to replace him.

"Here's the thing: Len is the ambassador for this show, as well as Tom Bergeron and a couple of other people," Slater noted. "I feel like Len is somebody that will always be instantly recognizable as that grumpy judge in the middle that gives harsh technical marks. I think he's irreplaceable in many aspects. I think Dancing With the Stars, if it comes to that, will find another grumpy judge who will be just as entertaining and possibly just as moody and delightful as Len."

However, Slater was quick to say that there is really no replacing Goodman and said that it will be "really sad" when he leaves. She noted that Goodman ultimately wants to "spend time with his wife" and play golf and even though this might be it for the judge, she still wants to "see his gorgeous face."

Goodman has been one of three judges that have been with Dancing With the Stars from the beginning, along with Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. The lineup changed for the first time in season 19, when former pro Julianne Hough became the official fourth judge on the panel. All four are slated to return this spring.

Dancing With the Stars returns for season 20 on Monday, March 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
