'The Originals' Season 2: Does The CW Drama Need More Guest Stars To Be As Popular As 'The Vampire Diaries'? [VIDEO]
It looks like all the best guest stars from The CW's The Vampire Diaries are now on The Originals.
Hayley Planning Unlikely Truce On 'The Originals'
On Friday, Entertainment Weekly took a look back at the best characters played by guest stars on the famed CW series, and there was certainly one overarching theme: The Mikaelsons.
Topping the list was the impulsive, wrathful, and ever-charming Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan). Following up the infamous hybrid for slot #2 was his brother, Elijah (Daniel Gillies). So who scored #3? That would be their sister Rebekah (Claire Holt). All of these stars went on to helm The Originals, which is currently in its second season.
No Romance For Klaus On 'The Originals' In 2015
Kol Mickelson (Nathaniel Buzolic) came in at #6 and the Mikaelson patriarch, Mikael (Sebastian Roche), scored slot #8.
Out of the eight honorable mentions, two are also The Originals stars. The first was Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin), mother to Klaus' daughter. The second mention was for Esther (Alice Evans), the Mikaelsons' witch mother who was responsible for turning them into vampires inn the first place.
Apparently these supporting characters were so good they warranted their own series, but will The Originals' guest stars prove to be just as memorable? It might just take time for the series to build up more supporting storylines, though the program does benefit from having a large ensemble cast to begin with.
The Originals returns on The CW for the remainder of its second season Monday, January 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
