Katy Perry, John Mayer Split: He Dumped Her, Perry Upset
Katy Perry and John Mayer have split, according to major entertainment publications such as People Magazine, Us Weekly and the Daily Mail, to name some.
Mayer reportedly dumped Perry and for now, there are conflicting reports as to whether they remain friends.
A source told People magazine "They'll end up as friends" but Us Weekly is reporting that Perry is "really upset about it."
"She is making it seem like it wasn't serious with John, but she is hurt," Us Weekly reports citing an anonymous source.
Perry and Mayer were reportedly ignoring each other at a dinner party on Tuesday night. "It was so weird!" a source told Radaronline.com.
"It was like they had this incredible animosity for each other and everyone else at the party could feel it," an eyewitness told Radaronline.
But apparently, Perry and Mayer gave the wrong impression to the public with their relationship.
"They were honestly having fun. People made it out to be far more than it was," a source told People Magazine.There are conflicting reports as to whether they remain friends.
Perry and Mayer were spotted together on several ocassions over recent weeks including at dinner at Chateau Marmont and attending a pool party in Beverly Hills on August 4.
Perry was married to British comedian Russell Brand for 14 months and finalized her divorce last month.
Since her split from Brand, Perry has dated Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd and male model Baptiste Giabiconi.
Mayer has dated Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson.
