Actor Jared Harris is returning to AMC's Mad Men this season, but not as Lane Pryce.

'Mad Men' Heading Toward New Decade In Series Finale

Pryce (Harris) tragically committed suicide on the ad agency drama during season five back in 2012. On Sunday IGN reported that the Englishman will be returning to the AMC series, though not in his old role.

Instead Harris will be directing one of the show's last episodes, though it is uncertain which episode he'll be helming. It most likely won't be the series finale, but anything leading up to that is fair game and will provide a nice little last-season reunion for the actor and his former costars.

'Mad Men' Premiere Date For 2015

Mad Men remains one of the few big returns this spring that has yet to lock down a premiere date. An announcement should be arriving soon, especially since other programs on the network, such as The Walking Dead, are already scheduled for the spring lineup.

Though Harris left Mad Men almost three years ago, his performance was indeed a memorable one.

Pryce, who was around for three seasons, first arrived on the Mad Men scene an English financial expert working for Sterling Cooper and soon became a fan-favorite. Rolling Stone even argued in 2013 that his presence had been essential to the growth of other characters around him and that the series suffered a major loss when he left.

Mad Men returns on AMC for the remainder of its seventh and final season this spring.
