In a recent interview, Christine Baranski, who plays Diane Lockhart in The Good Wife, spoke about how Will's (Josh Charles) death actually "energized the show" in a way.

Peter Florrick To Tackle Threat Of A Potential Riot In Upcoming Episode

Baranski spoke to E!Online about how the show had panned out since Will's death, and Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) coping with the tragedy and her evolution on the show this far.

"I just think the writing has been so masterful," she said. "To survive the death of a major character like that? If anything, it just energized the show. You see [Alicia] talking to her husband and her kids and you're like, 'She's not pulling any punches! She's not the good girl or the good wife anymore.'"

Finn Can't Replace Will, Matthew Goode Reveals

In the same interview, Baranski dished about Finn Polmar (Matthew Goode) and Alicia's slow-blossoming relationship.

She weighed in on what was going on between the two of them in season 3, wherein there is a lot of sexual tension between the two of them, and they have tacitly admitted their attraction to the other.

"Don't you love that it's like the old days, like the old movies where romance is in, what's not said and what's not done?" Baranski added. "That's truly sexy."

Baranski hinted at the fact that the two might very well come around in time, and finally get it on. She referred to Alicia and Will's relationship and how that panned out, stating that it took them a long time to finally hook up.

"Look how long they played out, 'Are Alicia and Will ever going to get together?'" she said. "That played out for a long time, that kind of tension between them, the little looks and the little moments...It's that brief encounter where you go, 'Oh, my God!' The audience just longs for that union."

The next episode will air on January 11 on CBS.
