Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), now King of Denmark, will have to cope with the ramifications of his unwanted power as season 3 unfurls, but his family and friends will have their own issues to deal with as well.
"Our leads start in a bad place," series creator Michael Hirst revealed, according to Yahoo! TV. "They're in dysfunctional relationships of one kind or another and there's a lot of resolving to do."

Ragnar, as per usual, is consumed by an undying need to shake Kattegat off his boots, and Norse warrior will take his expanding hoard of warriors back to Britain before heading for Paris. Unfortunately, the group's intrapersonal issues may make the journey harder.
Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard), Kattegat's esteemed boat builder, stood by Ragnar as season 2 came to an end, but his loyalty will not completely overcome the ill will he harbored against his old friend through the last year. Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), meanwhile, will start to clash more and more with his father as he enters adulthood, and will increasingly look to Rollo for advice.
