The Battlestar Galactica star will step into the role of Robert Gonzales, a MCU newbie that will quickly catch SHIELD's attention.
It is unknown whether or not Gonzales is a hero or a villain, but Marvel's proclamation that his debut "will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson [Clark Gregg] and his team" doesn't make it sound like Gonzales will be having a casual chat with the underground agency.

"Edward James Olmos brings an amazing gravitas to any role he inhabits, something we knew we needed for Robert Gonzales," executive producer Jeph Loeb stated. "When Olmos first appears on our series, everyone will have to take notice--including our favorite Agents."
The ABC series is currently on winter hiatus and won't return until March 3. When Coulson and Co. do make a reappearance, viewers will get to see Skye (Chloe Bennet) take on her new role as Quake and find out more about Earth's Inhumans. Agents of SHIELD has yet o release a title for the midseason premiere.
