Banshee is about to return with new episodes and it might be best to enjoy them while they last because the show is not going to stick around forever.

Lucas Tries To Get Information On Fat Al In 'Banshee' Sneak Peek

On Thursday, The Huffington Post released an interview with series creator Jonathan Tropper who made it clear that there's no way the show can be on for too much longer although that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to end soon. The show is about to delve into the third season and Tropper is under the impression that there might be a couple more seasons after that.

"We definitely have a sensitivity to the fact that the central premise of this show has a time limit on it," the creator said. "We always felt we could work within that universe for about five seasons of 10 episodes, and then either we would find a place for the show to evolve, and if not, we always knew what the ending of the show was."

Even though the action series might be in a positive place to last for a longer time, Tropper mentioned that he and everyone else are doing what they can to make sure that each season has a good ending- just in case.

"We treat each season like our last season," he said. "We kind of know the show is doing well and we will get renewed, but we never say, 'Let's hold that for Season 5.' Anything we can think of, we put out there while we still got a crew and a cast and a budget."

Banshee Season 3 starts on Friday, January 9 at 10 p.m. ET on Cinemax.
