Will Russell T Davies Write For 'Doctor Who' Season 9? Former Showrunner Talks Future Endeavors

The BBC goliath just started to film for season 9, and one tiny spoiler has already slipped out from the casting department - Paul Kaye will enter the Whoverse as the ninth season gets underway.

Frequently seen as Thoros of Myr on HBO's Game of Thrones, Kaye actor is set to play a character named Prentis, according to Doctor Who TV.

Unfortunately, it is currently unknown which episode the London-born actor will appear in. Doctor Who has a habit of filming out of order, so Kaye's early shooting date does not necessarily mean he will appear in the season 9 premiere.

However, the character's name lends credence to speculation that he will appear in episode 1. Title "The Magician's Apprentice," the premiere could easily hold a prime role for a character dubbed Prentis.

In addition to Game of Thrones, Kaye's long list of credits includes Lilyhammer, Strutter, Twenty Thousand Acres of Sky, and The Sunday Show.
