Fatherhood has not tamed Klaus on The CW's The Originals.

Elijah & Klaus At Odds On 'The Originals'

For centuries Klaus (Joseph Morgan) has been impulsive and violent, but now the hybrid has a reason for channeling his macabre talents. His daughter, Hope, is in danger and he will do anything to protect her. Unfortunately for his enemies, and even for his allies, that means going to some dark and even unforgivable places.

During an interview with the cast and crew on Sunday, Morgan told The Hollywood Reporter that the most recent scene he'd shot for the new season had Klaus entering a room carrying a bag filled with heads. Though extreme, this does make sense given that the hybrid threatened to put someone's "head on a spike" during a trailer for the January premiere (featured below).

Hayley Could Be Facing Off Against The Witches On 'The Originals'

Executive producer Michael Narducci emphasized that Klaus "is not necessarily going to follow orders" or take advice moving forward, which could mean some conflict between him and those closest to him. The producer noted that Klaus will be fighting with Elijah (Daniel Gillies) over how to protect Hope, and given Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) complicated relationship with Elijah, she just might be siding with Klaus, who will always be the father of her child, on this one.

The Originals returns on The CW for the remainder of its second season Monday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
