The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have officially joined Twitter, and even Prince Harry is tagging along for the ride.

Golden Globe Winner Dishes On Prince William

On Wednesday Kensington Palace posted it's first official message on Twitter, offering a proper welcome for the sudden rush of followers.

While Kensington Palace is of course somewhat general, a post later that afternoon noted that the account will "represent" Prince William, Princess Kate and Prince Harry. In time it may even come to represent William and Kate's son George, now one.

It looks like the Twitter account will focus mostly on charity events and royal business, though on Wednesday People suggested it might help generate interest if the royal couple posted a few photos of Prince George.

This week William resumed his studies, but his pregnant wife is scheduled to make a number of public appearances. On Thursday she attended the naming of The Clore Art Room at Barlby Primary School. On Friday she is expected to attend and charity event. She will then visit Kensington on Jan. 19 before rushing off to the opening of a new school.

Princess Kate is expected to give birth to her second child in April.
