Powerful Witch Attacks Teens On 'The Originals'

It looks like trouble will be brewing when the series returns this month as Finn (Yusuf Gatewood) and his father, the infamous Mikael (Sebastian Roche), come together to destroy Klaus (Joseph Morgan).

"Now Michael and Finn are together," executive producer Michael Narducci warned The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday. "And [Finn] kind of has a leg to stand on…So it's going to be really interesting to see his strategy and his agenda coming into the new [year]. Very quickly he becomes a threat and he uses Mikael…to help him accomplish that."

Finn views himself as a "hero" for going against his "wicked siblings" and is willing to align himself with the murderous Mikael, who has been known to burn entire cities to the ground in pursuit of Klaus, in order to do that.

Klaus will have some members of his family on his side, most notably his brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), who has become like one of the family after giving birth to Klaus' child. Rebekah (Claire Holt) will also be likely to stand by her brother, but only if they can find the witch body (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) she is currently trapped inside. Her status as a witch for the time being might just prove useful as they try to take on the resurrected Mikael.

The Originals returns on The CW for the remainder of its second season on Monday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
